Kia ora koutou,
Welcome back to Term 4! It’s going to be a super busy one, so make sure you keep an eye on the calendar (updates included in each newsletter as well). Don’t forget to download the School App and Facebook page to increase your chances of keeping up with the play!
Yesterday we were incredibly lucky to have Max Brown – a real-deal Olympian visit our school and share with us his journey. He spoke of resilience, determination, positivity and so much more. The students were quite mesmerised by his kōrero. Huge thank you to Max, Canoe Racing New Zealand, the NZ Team for giving up your time to inspire the next generation and to Leah Hurley for organising.
Bulls Cross Country is next week (Tuesday) at the golf course. We will need help with transport or if you plan to go directly there with your child (remember no one can be on the course before 10.20am due to a prior booking) please let us know. Entries for Hunterville will be sent out asap after our event and do not always include all 1st 2nd & 3rd placings. We take into account students in school running results and the size of the groups they are running with. The course at Hunterville is not for the faint-hearted and students require a high level of fitness to complete the course.
We have a teacher only day locked in for next Friday (25th October) as we work to incorporate new curriculum details into our planning ready to start 2025. You might be surprised to hear that planning for 2025 starts so early but in reality it actually begins around June (for things such as dates, camps, professional development plans). We still do not have all of the information we need and heard today that it will be with us soon so hopefully we can have a fruitful day setting some direction for our teachers for 2025. It is tagged onto Labour Weekend (Monday) to try to minimise disruptions. Thank you for your support with this mahi.
Big news this term: Check your emails for a Google form about the world’s first Bulls School Whānau Camp Out! It’s going to be an awesome time and you won’t want to miss it. Please make sure you complete the Google form and get it back to us asap so we can continue to make plans and give you more details.
Let’s all work together to make this term great!
Ngā manaakitanga, Kim.
Don’t forget – come and join us for a bit of a boogie 5.30pm tonight at the Scout Hall for the Jump Jam fundraiser disco. Might as well start the term with a bang!
