2022 Term 4 Week 7

Kia ora whānau,

The past few weeks have been an absolute whirlwind of activities. You will see we have attached posters for some of the BIG up-and-coming events.

Up first we have our Community Concerts. One during the day and one after school – our way of giving back to a community that is so supportive and giving of their time and energy to our kura. (Poster below)

The we have our Sports and Cultural Prize Giving – where we acknowledge and celebrate the many opportunities our tamariki have to shine. We look forward to seeing you at that. (Poster below)

Later that day we have the Formal Prizegiving – there isn’t a poster for this one – but their is a reminder below. We encourage all whānau to attend and we try hard to keep it short and focused around celebrating our tamariki. (See notice below)

On the last Wednesday of term we have our Camp Fundraiser Fair followed by other opportunities for our whānau to mix and mingle, including the opportunity to participate in the whānau race in the BSSG Colour Fun Run event taking place in the afternoon. You can come along to all or part of the day – either way we would love to see you. Don’t forget to pack your running shoes! (Poster below)

In this newsletter, we have shared with you our staffing plan for 2023. In your child’s school report which comes home on the 12th of December, you will have a slip explaining the hub and whānau teacher your child will have next year.

STAFFING PLAN FOR 2023

We farewell Sarah Bush and Ashleigh Hall – who we have been so lucky to have worked alongside us.

Sarah is moving back up to Auckland and Ashleigh is concentrating on her whānau while working a little closer to home in 2023.

We are lucky to have Vanessa McDowell return for the first part of Term 1 before heading off on maternity leave. She will be onsite as a release teacher before her leave (and baby) arrives!

We welcome on board Leah Hurley and Deborah Erickson. We are excited to be working with Leah again and we just know Deborah will fit in perfectly at our kura.

Finally, we welcome back Megan Syme. Her study leave has come to an end and we are super excited to have her back with us!

Monster Christmas Raffle tickets are on sale now for $2 each or $20 per card. Please return all ticket cards and money to the office by Friday 9th of December. The raffle will be drawn on Tuesday 13th December.

TOKOMANAWA

Tokomanwa has been busy planting their sunflowers for the Crombielockwood Challenge. They were able to plant one of their sunflowers in our school garden and take the other two home with them.

Ngā Kākano are practicing hard for our performance at the community concert and our cute factor is high!

You do not want to miss it!

RUNNING SHOES FOR OUR COMMUNITY

We have a number of good quality second-hand sports shoes available for our whānau/community. We will have these out beside the Kapata Manaaki on Thursday. After that, we will take the leftovers to another school in the Rangitikei to distribute.

Covid is raring its head again in our school and the wider community. Please continue to be vigilant about testing & basic hygiene so that we can do our best to keep our school operating as we make our way to the 2022 finish line.

Lunch in School

The Ministry provides free healthy lunches daily, you will need to provide morning tea and a water bottle for your child. Please let the office know of any dietary requirements, alternatively, you can opt-out of the Lunch Scheme by contacting the office and then provide your own healthy lunch.
