Kia ora koutou,
I said it in the last email…and I’ll say it again, it’s a busy busy term. Today is the 1st November and just look at our calendar below!
Thursday Touch Rugby: What a great first round we had. We can’t thank our volunteer coaches and managers enough. Without you, we simply couldn’t put the number of teams forward that we have for this season. There are some quite specific rules we have to follow in order to be included in this competition so this might mean more players per team than you might think we need, however, feedback tells me that the system is working well and I can assure you the coaches are doing their best to give our tamariki a positive experience. It is vital our supporters remember that your reactions and interactions with others are what our children see, hear and learn from.
Hunterville Cross Country: Last week this was postponed and will now go ahead tomorrow (Thursday 2nd November) weather permitting. It was ironic that the weather and the conditions were so bad because the infamous Shemozzle went ahead on a sunny day under blue skies just one day later. Spring weather at its finest. If you have offered transport but can no longer assist please let us know ASAP (it is most likely we have already been in contact by now but in case we missed something). GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF OUR COMPETITORS!!
Thursday: Partly due to the postponement of Cross Country, tomorrow is now a bit of a tricky day for us. Over half of the school will have relievers in the hubs and quite a few of our staff are out at different PLD sessions. We have a staff member – Whaea Di – going to Hunterville with our competitors. Please be helpful and kind.
Staff for 2024: We are presently working on hub sizes and staff for 2024 but we have an announcement to share with you. Kerri Guard has won a position as Deputy Principal of Cloverlea School beginning in 2024. We are very excited for her as she continues to grow her leadership skills and take on new and exciting challenges. This means we are continuing to work through staffing but hope to have it settled over the next few weeks.
Community Information Afternoon: Please keep this free. We are planning an information afternoon that includes updates on how to read/interpret your child’s PaCT reports, Structured Literacy – what is it and how can we help at home, and Strategic Planning 2024. We promise to make it fun, interactive, and informative – as well as short and sweet :-).
PRIDE VALUES – It is super important that our tamariki show these when they are both at school and out and about representing Bulls School. In fact, displaying PRIDE values works in every situation! Our tamariki understand that we expect them to show: POSITIVITY, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, DETERMINATION AND EXCELLENCE as members of the Bulls School Community. Not being able to do this can have an impact on what doors of opportunity open up for you and which ones don’t.
Kia pai te rā, have a great day
Kim Gordon – Tumuaki.
NOTICE ADDED JUST PRIOR TO PUBLISHING:
WE ARE NOTICING THERE IS QUITE A BIT OF ILLNESS AROUND. VOMITING AND DIARRHEA, STOMACH ACHES AND YES…COVID. PLEASE TAKE CARE AND LET US KNOW IF YOUR CHILD WILL BE STAYING HOME. IF WE ALL DO OUR BEST TO DO THE RIGHT THING WE CAN MINIMISE THE SPREAD AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
